I did a massive studio cleanup last week and had marks on the wall from some items I took down and needed to cover. So I pulled out my yarn basket and got to work 🧶 I had all these items laying around so the total cost of this DIY was $0 🙌

19 DAYS UNTIL SURGERY! I’ve been living with debilitating sciatic nerve pain and numbness in my right leg and foot since August 2018. I’ve been to specialists, a surgeon, an osteopath regularly, physio, two pain clinics, and have been on a cocktail of meds that make me absolutely exhausted every day. Fortunately I am a candidate for a microdiscectomy, unfortunately, the wait time was a year... Well the time has finally almost come and I’m weirdly excited to have my back sliced open 🔪 I just can’t wait to have my life back! Chronic pain sucks. ••• The goal of a microdiscectomy is to remove the disc material that’s bulging and placing pressure on the nerve. Right now, the damaged disc tissue has extended into the spinal column and is pushing on my sciatic nerve. This causes the nerve to send pain signals to my brain and the pain is interpreted to be coming from my leg. I may feel relief right away, or it may feel worse and then get better. Recovery is 2 weeks no driving and 3 months of no bending or lifting. So needless to say you won’t find me at any craft markets any time soon... I’m mostly just sad I can’t pick up my kitties 🙀🙀 I’m very lucky to have a supportive partner who works from home and can help me with my recovery, and my kind family and friends who have offered to help, thank you 🙏❤️ ••• 📷 Beautiful hand cut paper spine created and shot by @lightandpaperali
